New Floor Pans Or Just Patch With Sheet Metal?

I have a few holes in other places and near the back that I plan to patch with sheet metal and use a good sealant/undercoat to protect. Is it easy with enough time to cut/bend sheet metal to fill gaps over a foot long, or is it worth the extra money to buy a whole new pan for the worst places? My rocker arms are completely rusted along with that pinch seam underneath, but all metal not at the lowest points or on the rocker arm is in good condition.

The parts under the seats are perfect, but the part under the floor is quite corroded. I have the body on a rotisserie and the floor top and outer panel are removed so the floor section replacement is accessible. As for new parts, the price for right side repair panels ranges from $111 to $230. Since I only want the foot well section, whatever I get will probably be cut in half for installation.
